About Mohawk Valley Association of REALTORS® INC;

The Mohawk Valley Association of Realtors®  is composed of approximately 350 members. Our portion of the voluminous Mohawk Valley covers, in general, Oneida and Herkimer and parts of other surrounding New York counties. We have been proudly serving this general area since 1915.

The Realtor® members of our Association are dedicated to this community. The majority of us are locally born and raised. Yet, as our area is famed for welcoming and integrating waves of refugees from around the world, we also have many members from far flung places speaking a multitude of languages.

Many of our members actively participate in charitable and service organizations in our area. We are proud of Central New York and like to like to think of ourselves as unofficial “tour guides” for the Mohawk Valley.

The Board, under the auspices of its active all-volunteer committees, is also supportive of local charities and programs which serve our youth, earning our members praise from residents of the Mohawk Valley.  We are very proud of our sponsorship of an annual scholarship program for graduating seniors in the twenty-three high schools in our Board jurisdiction. We hope some of them will join our profession!

As a Realtor® Association we consistently provide quality educational programs for membership, secure in our belief that our extra knowledge serves the public better. Our website is second to none, attracting people with its superior search functions while educating them about the importance of using a Realtor.  It also shows how the Realtor PAC has initiated and protected many important areas of property ownership and will continue to do so.

Financially, we are on solid ground, and we anticipate we will continue to be fiscally healthy due to our policy of strict oversight of Board expenses and our enthusiastic recruitment of new members. Having just passed our 100 year anniversary, we intend to be around for at least another 100.

MVAR strives to bring our members quality programs and updates in order to help them serve the public better. We scan the field for technological tools available and incorporate those that best serve our customers and clients.

MVAR members strictly follow the Realtors® Code of Ethics, the second oldest professional Code in our nation, to assure ethical treatment of all parties. It is our Association’s strong desire to promote and maintain high standards of conduct in the real estate profession, to provide a unified medium for real estate owners and those engaged in the real estate profession, whereby their interests may be safeguarded and advanced, and to further the interest of home and other real property ownership.

From now through the years to follow, we will be the local Voice of Real Estate, protecting property rights, promoting legislation beneficial to the ownership and rental of real property and making sure commerce where a Realtor is involved is conducted in an ethical and honest way.

We are proud members of the New York State Association of Realtors® and the National Association of Realtors® and have been for over 100 years.
